The Black Lillies to Perform at Woody Guthrie Center November 16

The Woody Guthrie Center Noon Concerts series is happening this weekend, and The Black Lillies from Tennessee will be hitting the stage!

The Black Lillies is an Americana band composed of five talented musicians from Knoxville, TN. Their original songs span a variety of different genres, mainly bluegrass, blues, jazz, country and pop. The band consists of Cruz Contreras on guitar, vocals and mandolin; Trisha Gene Brady on vocals; Bowman Townsend on percussion; Tom Pryor on guitar and pedal steel; and Robert Richards on bass.

Their debut album, Whiskey Angel, was released in April 2009 and earned them a spot playing at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. They were also asked to participate in the Americana Music Association’s Festival & Conference in 2010. Since then, they have been constantly touring and building their following across the country.  In 2011, the band released their second album, 100 Miles of Wreckage, followed by Runaway Freeway Blues in 2013.

Enjoy the unique sound of The Black Lillies at the Woody Guthrie Center this Sunday, November 16 at 8pm.  Enso is now open on Sundays, starting at 5pm, so stop by before the concert and have a Jack Daniel’s on the rocks, Tennessee style.
