Second Saturday Street Fest to be Held in East Village

The Second Saturday Street Fest in Downtown’s East Village is taking place this weekend, so get ready for a fun day filled with delicious food, great music, and local art!

The East Village is located on the east side of downtown Tulsa within the boundaries of Elgin Avenue and US Highway 75, from 11th Street to the south of the rail road tracks between Archer and 1st Street. The East Village District Association has been putting its efforts into developing the area more, which is what birthed the idea of this monthly fundraising festivity that helps raise money and provide everyone with a great afternoon to enjoy.

The Street Fest will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be featuring food trucks on Lansing, as well as various street performances along Lansing and Kenosha. If you love mural paintings and watching artists create them, then you are in for a treat because live mural paintings will be taking place at 3rd & Kenosha.

There will also be a lot of great live music performances throughout the day. Black Kat Benders takes the stage with their blues & rock music from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Primitive Boys come next, playing from 12:15 to 1:00 pm with R&B, Hip Hop, and Fusion. Libertè D’Expression will perform Traditional African drum and dance from 1:00 p.m. to 1:10 p.m., and Tulsa Belly Dance will perform belly and tribal dancing from 1:10 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Watch Branjae will play acoustic jazz, R&B, and rock from 1:30pm-2:00pm, and Mike & “Stella” will play a 12 string steel guitar set from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Delacroix will round out the lineup with Spoken Word, Folk, Hip Hop, and acoustic performances from at 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will be used for the overall development of the East Village.
