George Strait on The Cowboy Rides Away Tour Come to the BOK Center

This Friday, the legendary George Strait will be performing at the BOK Center, giving fans the opportunity to see one of country music’s most respected and beloved entertainers. It is a stop along his two-year The Cowboy Rides Away Tour and will be featuring fellow country singer Ronnie Dunn.

Known as the “King of Country”, George Strait has been one of the most popular country music singers and producers of this era. His career started in the 1980s with songs like “If You’re Thinking You Want A Stranger”, “Fool Hearted Memory”, and “The Chair”.  To date, he has achieved 13 multi-platinum, 33 platinum, and 38 gold albums. He has also won a number of awards starting as the Top Male Vocalist by the Academy Country Music in 1984. He has also won many awards over the years, including Top Male Vocalist, Album of the Year, Single of the Year, and Favorite Country Male Artist.

In addition, George Strait has also had an acting career, playing roles in “The Soldier” in 1982, “Grand Champion” in 2002, and “Pure County 2: The Gift” in 2011.

The Cowboy Rides Away Tour is said to be the singer’s final tour before he retires from the music industry. The tour started in 2013 and was divided into two legs, featuring 21 concerts in 2013 and 26 concerts in 2014.
