Fun 2nd Annual Cops and Robbers Race in Tulsa

Fun 2nd Annual Cops and Robbers Race in Tulsa

It’s cops versus robbers this coming Friday at the 2nd Annual OGIA Cops and Robbers 5K race! The Cops and Robbers 5K is a fundraising event for the Oklahoma Gang Officers Association Fallen Officers Fund. Proceeds of the event will go to emergency funds that will provide assistance to families of fallen Oklahoma officers. Financial assistance will help victims’ families with the unexpected needs that arise immediately following the death of their loved ones.

The Cops and Robbers race is a one-of-a-kind race that offers a special challenge to all runners. Certain people will be labeled “Robbers” and will run along the race route carrying flags for designated prizes. Runners will then act as the “Cops” who will try to catch a “Robber” before they reach the finish line.

Cops who catch a robber within an arm’s length will get the flag, which they can redeem for the corresponding prize at the end of the race. There are cash prizes as well as special prizes such as an iPad Mini donated by Sam’s Club and a $500 Gift Certificate donated by Jim Norton Chevy.

Those who want to join the race are encouraged to register early. The first 300 registered runners will receive a Cops and Robbers tech shirt and racing medal. Participants are asked to wear appropriate racing attire or, better yet, cops and robbers costumes!

A Tulsa Police SWAT team armored vehicle and Tulsa Fire truck will also be on display for taking pictures.

The race time is at 8pm for the 5K run and 8:05pm for the One Mile Fun Run.
