First Annual Oysterfest to be Held at Guthrie Green

This weekend, Guthrie Green will be hosting the First Annual Oysterfest in downtown Tulsa, which will be a feast filled with music, beer and lots of oysters! This one-of-a-kind festival will complement Guthrie Green’s regular live entertainment and burgeoning food truck community to offer residents something new and different as they enjoy the outdoor venue.

Guthrie Green is a park and outdoor amphitheater located at the Brady Arts District, which opened in 2012 and has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years. Set against the backdrop of the Tulsa skyline, it is a beautiful venue that hosts various events such as concerts, plays, fitness classes, weekend markets, educational tours, and more.

The First Annual Oysterfest, sponsored by Lucky’s on the Green restaurant, will be taking place on Saturday, March 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with the special St. Patrick’s Weekend Block Party in the Brady Arts District. Different restaurants, food trucks, and chefs will be participating in the oyster-off event and fundraiser, where various oyster dishes will be displayed and offered to the public. Patrons can vote for their favorite oyster dish, and the proceeds of the oyster-off will go to the Community Food bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

There will also be a “Shuck & Suck” oyster eating competition. Those with an insatiable appetite for oysters can enter the contest for $150, and it is open to everyone. The winner will go home with a trophy, bragging rights, and prizes.

Live music will also be featured throughout the event with amazing performances from music acts such as Tulsa Native and Nashville transplant Tennessee Jet, as well as Nashville’s Clear Plastic Masks.
